Chamber meeting
The Summerville Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 6:00 at the Hungry Moose.
Present for the meeting were Cathy Tuttle, Donna Canfield, Rose Garman, David Barnett and Linda Barnett.

Present for the meeting were Cathy Tuttle, Donna Canfield, Rose Garman, David Barnett and Linda Barnett. The meeting was called to order by President Cathy Tuttle. The minutes for September were read and a motion by Cathy Tuttle was made to approve the minutes as read, seconded by Rose Garman and unanimously approved.
Rose presented the Treasurer’s Report. Donna Canfield made a motion to approve the report as presented, seconded by Linda Barnett and unanimously approved.
There were many positive comments about the Pumpkin Festival. If you would like a t-shirt from the festival there are a few left. Contact Cathy Tuttle at Country Petals. The price for a shirt is $14.00.
Bob and Kay Richardson will be the Grand Marshall of the Summersville 2011 Christmas parade. Santa will be at the Senior Center to give a gift and talk to each child after the parade. There will again be both a business and residential Christmas light contest. Entries for the contest will be judged the week of the parade. Remember the theme for the parade is Christmas Stories. The Chamber is this year having a Mr. and Miss Christmas Contest, the categories are as follows: Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas-Seniors, Mr. and Miss Snowflake-Juniors, Mr. and Miss Holly-Sophomores, Mr. and Miss Mistletoe-Freshman, Mr. and Miss Candycane-7th & 8th, Mr. and Miss Elf-grades 4th-6th, Mr. and Miss Gingerbread grades K-3. Information regarding the contest will be given to the high school and elementary school this week . The winners of the contest will ride in the parade on a float provided by the Chamber. Each category will receive one- half the money collected in their category.
