City meeting minutes

• PRESENT WERE - Mayor, Mike Jackson, Council members Leroy Wells, Jeremy Russell, Chance Johnson, and Bud Anderson. City workers Rick Griffith and Barry Barnes. Police Chief, Thad Wheeler and Josh Ashlock. City Clerk, Kitty Jehle. Secretary, Virginia Wilbanks. Guests; Terris Cates, Eric Warfield-Integrity Engineering, Chris Cates, Colleen Kirkman, Lloyd Mitchell, Penny and Darrin Treadway- Ozark Applicators, Sharon Vaughn- Summersville Beacon, Roy Broce, Gwen Anderson, Linda Barnes and Lloyd Jackson.
• New Business: Public Meeting
• Mayor Mike Jackson called the Public Meeting to order at 6:34 P.M. The public meeting was scheduled along with the regular Council Meeting to talk about sandblasting and repainting the existing water tower. The City has hand delivered special invitations to all City residents that live within 300 feet radius of the water tower, with everyone present signing their name. Terris Cates was the first guest to speak; he stated this was an open forum. He talked about the existing water tower, construction of a new tower, which showed areas inside the water tank that needs to be repaired. Barry and Rick test the water, according to DNR regulations. Terris stated if you do not take care of the tower, you will loose it. Terris Cates also showed pictures of the top of existing water tower, which showed pitting and peeling paint. Terris showed maps of water lines within the city and stated the new water pipes will be installed should last a long time. ... cont.
